The leadership shake-up at Twitter isn’t over just yet.
As the social media company struggles to attract new users and compete for more ad dollars, Twitter isn’t just hiring new executives but changing the makeup of its board of directors.
More additions to the board soon, ones that will bring diversity and represent the strong communities on Twitter. This matters & is a must.

On April 6, the San Francisco tech firm named Hugh Johnston, vice chairman and CFO of food and beverage company PepsiCo, and British Internet entrepreneur Martha Lane Fox to its board of directors, a regulatory filing by Twitter on Friday shows. Lane Fox co-founded the travel and leisure website lastminute.com and doteveryone.org.uk, an “organization advancing the understanding and use of Internet enabled technologies,” the filing said.
Business executive Peter Currie and former News Corp. President Peter Chernin will leave Twitter’s board when their terms expire in May.
Dorsey, who co-founded Twitter, returned as the company’s CEO after Dick Costolo stepped down from the position in June 2015 amid pressure from investors. In October, Dorsey accepted the job permanently and is also running payment company Square.
The 39-year-old tech mogul said during the company’s last quarterly earnings report that he’s focused on Twitter’s strength in live events and recruiting new employees this year. This week, Twitter also teamed up with the NFL to broadcast Thursday night football games for the 2016 regular season.
Twitter’s stock was down 1.95 percent on Friday, closing at $16.65 per share. From October to December, the company had 320 million monthly active users, the same as the third quarter.
