Rumors swirling about front-runners for the job as Twitter’s new CEO have centered on executives who are already working for the company.

One of the names that have been floated around as a possible candidate to succeed Dick Costolo is Twitter CFO Anthony Noto. The 47-year-old came from the investment banking firm Goldman Sachs where he co-headed the company’s telecommunications, media and technology group before joining the social network.

Since then, Noto has been taking on other job duties such as marketing for Twitter, though he isn’t gunning for the CEO position, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing a person familiar with his thinking.

“The additional responsibilities Anthony has at Twitter are a reflection of Dick’s trust in him, and not of any request of Anthony’s to take them on,” Twitter spokesman Jim Prosser told the newspaper. The company has also said it is looking at people outside of Twitter for the job in addition to internal candidates.

Adam Bain, Twitter’s president of global revenue, has also been named as a front-runner to lead the company, Forbes reported, citing sources with knowledge of the inner workings of the company.

“Noto doesn’t want the job. He’s a team person, a football player. The guy is a leader, but he’s a leader in the form of playing his position,” a source, which wasn’t named, told Forbes.

With Twitter founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey taking over for Costolo in July during the search, there’s also speculation that he wants the job permanently.

Business Insider notes that Dorsey, who is the CEO of the mobile payment company Square, has deflected the question when asked.

“I believe the ‘interim’ title will be gone by the end of the year. I believe Dorsey will be CEO,” Jay Yarow, executive editor of Business Insider, wrote.
